American Off Roading (Wheeling?) Magazines?

Mark

Recommended Posts

I am in San Francisco at the minute, and thought that while I was here, I might pick up a few of the American off roading magazines to see what they do different here vs at home...

I know about petersen's off road, but are there any others that people can recommend?

Also where the hell do you get them from? There doesn't seem to be an equivalent of WH Simths here, and when I went into Borders (Big Bookshop) I was presented with a vast selection of UK based motoring magazines (Top Gear, classic and sports car, Car, evo, etc) but no US based 4x4 stuff at all!

Any help muchos appreciated.

Cheers

Mark

Barnes & Noble usually have a good selection, they normally have a starbucks as well so you can browse with a cuppa. As well as Petersens, there are a couple of Jeep mags, a few Toyota ones too, Toyota Trails is one. Have you seen Overland Journal? Quality, more overlanding than 4 wheelin' but hard to come by.

Well; as I live over here, I might as well chime in. My favorite is 4WD & Sport Utility Magazine. I believe it is a Peterson's publication. Also if you want to see what's really popular statesside these days, pick up a copy of 8-lug magazine. It is dedicated to the 3/4 and 1 ton diesel market. JP magazine is probably the best of the jeep mags, and 4 wheeler is not bad, either.

And to make Four Wheeler even better this months contents page features a double page picture of our car flying through the air!

I am biased but worth buying just for that :P
