Getting parts online

Recommended Posts

I am in need of a boost diaphragm. The one and only place within an hour drive of here that it seems I can get parts from is a Ford dealer. This Ford dealer won't even try to order my boost diaphragm for a week. Then they won't say how long it will take to arrive. Typical Italian customer service. I've found lots of places online, but I can't find boost diaphragms. :(

Ah, ok you need to find a LUCAS CAV dealer for that diaphragm.

What's LUCAS CAV? I haven't seen anything like that here. I'm getting a little discouraged. The lady I bought this truck from told me it was easy to find parts around here.

Lucas CAV is the injection pump makers, if you send Les & PM I'm sure he will pass on the part number of the diaphragm.

how to replace here in our tech archive

Thanks for the link. Reading that in the tech archive a few days ago is what led me to believe my boost diaphragm is bad. I've also already got the part number. Only thing I don't have is a place to buy one. Very frustrating. I tried giving the parts guy a part number. He doesn't even want the number until the 29th when he's ready to place the order.

You'll be lucky to find anyone thats got that one the shelf! I cant see a part number for it on EPC, which means its probably not got a landrover part number. If not then you'll have to track down a Lucas dealer.

As TD's are old hat and not well liked, few independant places would keep the parts on the shelf.

Try to find some diesel specialist, Lucas-Cav pumps are common on tractors, forklifts and different agricultural equipment. Maybe not the diaphragm for a TD, but you'll never know, there might be something else using the same pump.

I'll try that. Thanks for answering my ignorant questions! :P
