Boro
Could someone please tell me what the best way of cleaning the inside of the intercooler, inlet manifold and intercooler pipework is please and also the breather pipes that go onto the cyclone breather as i have a replacement cyclone breather and want to clean the pipes out whilst im at it, assume its to leave them soaking in something but what that wont do damage and is aggressive enough to remove the gunge

Les Henson
I use petrol to clean the intercooler. Sloshing it back and forth a few times and using fresh petrol a few times usually gets it all out. Same with the inlet manifold, but you'll never get all of it out because of the shape of the casting. Les.
drkwack
I did use a weak solution of caustic soda on the metal parts and then sloshed it around making sure I had some good gloves on and saftey glasses in case of splashes, then washed them out with a running hosepipe, dont know if it will work on the pipes though, intercooler is still ok. Caustic soda!!!! that eats aluminium, avoid putting that anywhere near any land rover as we all know they are made up of lots of aluminium
