How to remove radio....

Recommended Posts

Many thanks for that.

Is it necessary to buy the SMD 4091 for this, or is there a more common tool I can use? How does the locking/release mechanism work?

Also, the radio in my car doesn't have two holes each side, only one....will the same principle apply?

Appreciate any help.

Phil.

No - you need a 2.5mm allen key for the later VDO radios which is probably what yours is, stick it in each hole and unscrew about 20-30 turns then the radio just pulls out, completely different to older key type radios.

The correct answer to the OP's post is:-

Park it somewhere dark and the locals will remove it for you free of charge.

Happily, not where I live! I'll just have to do it myself...

Phil.
