Disco 2 wheelbearing

Ok due to mixed messages I seem to remember that disco 2 bearings are not replaceable, you need a full hub at £300 ish

but then I remember sonething about its the same as a P38 where you can change bearings.

anyone?

I thought you had to change the whole hub but may be wrong. I've never seen bearing kits but as the vehicles get older somebody will probably start making them.

Island 4x4 have them F + R at £157 inc Vat / post. They seem fine to me,plus they include the sensor.

just fitted a island 4x4 bearing to the back of my disco worked but dont seam as good quality as the timken bearing i fited to the front abot 6 months ago but only time will tell the next one i do i think will come from here http://www.foundry4x4.co.uk/Land%20Rover/P...ts.asp?cat=4003 but more money but a genuine part

and range rover bearing wont fit unless you fit the rr axle i took the old front bearing to bits and there are no replace able parts

I have had two go and they are around the £160 mark to buy and easy to fit.

The bearings themselves arent replaceable but the hubs are the same as fitted to the P38,both front and rear.

Be aware that the copy items have a habit of allowing grease to pass the internal seals and foul the ABS COLLECTOR RING ,in turn causing your ABS lights to illuminate.

Recently fitted a non genuine one,and had the above issue.After fitting a new senso discovered it was grease on the ring causing the problem.

One to be aware of.

99.9% sure discovery hubs and range rover hubs are NOT the same and there is nothing to stop grease getting on the abs ring on genuine hubs it dont matter if it does
