Phil Hancock
Anyone know off an over large seal or another way of stopping this leak before i need another engine I had a rear seal leak problem on a 2.5nad, not a mark on the sealing surface on the crank, 2 seals in 5000miles!, cured by changing from the hard dowty type to the softer orange coloured from Allmakes. western
The 200Tdi was factory fitted to LT77 gearboxes on Defender & Discovery, so you shouldn't have any problems.
Paul
bye the way its to much engine for the LT 77 gear box having to fit another box rattling big style If it's rattling with the clutch out in neutral, it's more likely to be the springs in the clutch plate. Mine used to rattle badly like that, but a new clutch solved the problem. Paul
MECCANO
Dowty seals are pants. who ever invented them needs a slap. Had no end of problems with them when i rebuilt my 2.25 pet. the orange softer are far superior. i'd try one of them.
