Knobber
Hi, Defender failed on Saturday, on offside front brake pipe (corroded) & nearside Drag link ball joint. What I would like to know is, are brake pipes available off the shelf if so were? many thanks pete
Puffernutter
Easiest thing is to take the old one off and get a local garage to make one up to same length. That's what I did recently. Unless it's a flexible pipe, they're normally made to order. It's easy and not that expensive. Of course you need to get the old one off first..... LandyManLuke
They're available off the shelf, all joined together in a coil for you to cut up yourself... In all seriousness, if you can be more specific with model/age details, part numbers can be found, but I doubt there are too many 'on the shelf' - it's definitely eaiser/cheaper to make them up as and when required. western
get some brake pipe/end fitings & a flaring kit & make a new one or as above take it off & ask local garage to make one for you.
barmiebrumie
Pity your not closer, could have poped round & i would of made one up for you John
jcwcooper
Genuine LR ones come pre bent with all the fittings and are ready to fit.....but that can be part of the problem it can make them a pig to fit as all the bends are already done. They're not too bad price wise either HTH Dave
