What is passenger side and what is drivers side.. is it left hand looking from front or left hand from drivers seat. coz they are different! why cant they just say nearside or offside!!!! Because your nearside is only the nearside when its in a country that drives on the left... when you go to France it becomes the offside Can't answer the first part of your question cos I don't know!! OS & NS refer to the side of the vehicle with respect to the pavement, so will be different in countries that drive on the left to those that drive on the right. LH is on the left hand/foot/side of the turtle and RH is on right hand/foot/side of the whatever. Very simple and not confusing (except for the people who don't know which side is left or right) Nearside/offside depends which side of the road you drive and passenger/driver side depends on which side the steering wheel is placed.
