welling4x4 Posted March 14, 2010 Share Posted March 14, 2010 My rebuilt defender, Has a Disco 200tdi in it & has a fault I cannot sort & I need help. On start up I rev it to bring the engine to life BUT when I stop & take my foot off the accelerator the engine seems to die & then pick back up.It had a non return valve on the fuel line which I took off, I replaced the fuel lift pump & have checked for fuel leaks which their is none so I am @ a lost now what to check or replace. jbs Posted March 15, 2010 Share Posted March 15, 2010 If the fuel filter has been changed then it may have the rubber ring on top of the filter to the housing missing! this will cause the vehicle to rev to low revs then seem to die then idle again means there is air getting into the system somewhere Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
