L835
Hi, I have a 110 sw with a load leveling rear axle, but no load leveler. The ride when 'empty' is extreamly harsh, when going over a bump in the road it's like being kicked from behind. Having looked at the rear springs the only paint I can see is red/red. Fully loaded the 110 is quite well behaved, any ideas? thanks Richard

The unladen ride of all stock defenders, 90/110 etc. (and SIII, SII, etc.) is best described as "firm"!

mike4444244
HD springs do make it a bit skippy when its empty, if you dont spend much time loaded its a quick and cheap swap back to standard Mike
L835
Thanks, will standard springs without the load leveller be ok?
Lars L
They will surely be softer, even too soft as soon as you put any load in... The springs you have are strictly speaking not HD, just standard ones for vehicles without the Boge unit.
western
Without the SLU & the original springs will be to soft, a pair of 110sw unlevelled rear springs would be OK.
L835
The ride when 'empty' is extreamly harsh, when going over a bump in the road it's like being kicked from behind. ...any ideas? New shock absorbers sorted out the ride, the 110 did have an 11 month mot when I baught it but it seems the O/S shock didn't have any in it oil at all.....
