Fantic
I believe the Gap road is still TRO'd until sometime in May ... dunno about Sarn Helen.
GBMUD
ISTR that the Gap road has a permanent TRO now, not sure about Sarn Helen. Hope that Paul Humphrys stops by, he is likely to know definitively. Chris

Llanigraham
Gap Rd is now CLOSED. All date signs have been removed and BBNP and PCC confirm it is a Restricted Byway.
Paul Humphreys
The lowest part os Sarn is closed, the bit above it is under a seaonal TRO and will not open June due to a wind farm been buile. Middle part is open, as middle I mean the big above BBNP as the bit in the park in "under dispute". The North bit is open. Paul
Orgasmic Farmer
I can confirm that within the Brecon Beacons NP that the Gap road, Sarn Helen, and the Talybont-Dolygaer road are all permanently closed to motorised vehicles.

headhunter
Dave Welcome to the forum. Here's a quote from GBMUD that offers sound advice to beginners. "Your local County Council Rights of Way and highways dept will be able to help you identify legally drivable routes and where the TROs are. Alternatively you could join a local club and go on some of their green lane days. There are also private companies who will take you out for a fee or groups like GLASS or CRAG who get involved in green lane maintenance and also do green lane driving days without charge for their members. Many people are fairly reluctant to give out details of ROWs publicly or to someone they do not know - astonishing as it seems there are some people who choose not to treat the countryside and ROW with respect which gives us all a bad name."
