LandyManLuke
Acquire a new bleed nipple, and then set about carefully removing the old one.
DAN82SED
cheers luke, goona pick up a new nipple tomorrow, but how am i going to remove the damaged one? ive tryed every size spanner and socket to loosen it but no luck
LandyManLuke
If its rounded, rather than sheared, you could file two flats on to it so an adjustable or smaller spanner can be used, or you could try tapping on a smaller socket. If it's sheared flush then you're in to the realms of drilling it out, eazi-outs, etc.
DAN82SED
thanks agin luke, the nipple is fine but the nut shered off around it. filing it down sounds like that might work, will give it a go tomorrow,
jad
give it a go with some mole grips should be easier than filing and you wont get metal shavings everywhere
zim
I prefer a big pair of water pump pliers (i.e. 15" items) as i find these grip better than vice grips. Or, weld a nut on it then undo with a spanner. The heat will help. Just don't go crazy or you'll bugger your seals up. G
Maverik
Ooooo try one of these if you can get the one into the bleed nipple stub... http://www.screwfix.com/prods/18643/Drill-Bits/Specialist-Drill-Bits/Screw-Extractor-Set?cm_mmc=GoogleBase-_-Datafeed-_-Drill%20Bits-_-Screw%20Extractor%20Set
