sumb portal axles

hello

has anybody ever fitted sumb portal axles to a land rover ? I should think that there very similar /the same as mog 404 axles ?

if your thinking simca axels , they are very very heavey , personally i think too heavey for a landrover , other possable problem is the drop box is before the cv/steering knuckle , (as front and rear ael tubes are identical) and sticks out under the truck a lot not tucked inside the wheel like volvo mog etc

Yes was thinking simca axles , just wondered about them as i've never heard anybody say they've fitted them to a land rover and wondered why

somebody on here has got some fitted to a range rover.

I looked at buying some a little while ago with the intention of grafting the drop boxes onto the end of series axles.

I couldn't buy the axles cheap enough to justify the experiment.

try doing a search for simca portal?

Been discussed serveral times on here and done at least twice, once on a RR and once on a 90. They make unimog axles look lightweight, and I don't think the design is the greatest in comparison with more popular portals.

There was some on ebay a few days ago,no bids at £400 start looks really heavy and diff on wrong side
