How Waterproof

Gents,

With a good snorkel and raised breathers how fit for wading is a standard 110 TD5?

My RR had Megasquirt, never had a TD5 or indeed a Diesel before, nervous about taking the plunge without prior information.

I don't have a TD5 but from what I understand, you have a computerthingamychipmabob in your engine. It's probably best to relocate that to the roof of your cab.

oh, and expect your feet to get wet too

also I have read a lot about making sure your snorkel is properly sealed otherwise it is just a waste of time. Maybe someone can throw some more light on this....

As posted above....your ecu is under the drivers seat and is NOT water proof....there are a few companys selling the harness extension leads so you can relocate the ecu much higher up....there is also a couple of relays in there too so they need to be put in a sealed box or moved higher....dont forget your fuse box above the gearbox tunnel.

You also need to be wary of the fly by wire throttle I think.

Throttle is an issue, ECU is under the seat. Having seen the price of TD5 loom extensions, I'd buy some wire and get the soldering iron out, they're insane money.
