Buzza
Possibly the fuel pressure regulator, it's at the back of the head by the inlet manifold. Steve
M&S
Fuel pressure regulator, sits right at the back of the engine. Yes, it is hard to see the leak unkless it's on a ramp with a good torch. If you do a search for FPR or fuel pressure regulator I'm sure there's threads about it
Anderzander
Almost certain to be FPR . Here's a photo of my bell housing soaked with diesel from when it was leaking. Buy a genuine part to replace it, even though they are more money. Good guide on this disco site: http://www.discovery2.co.uk/Fpr.html

old & wrinkly
Many thanks guys.. just one more question !!! can this be done by an untrained chimp with fingers like sausages (me) or does it mean trip to the local dealer ? Anderzander
Have a read of the guide I posted. You can definitely do it - but it is very awkward. You'll need a lot of patience and ideally a 1/4 drive socket with a few extensions and a flexible knuckle for it.
old & wrinkly
yes.. i think i can manage that one !! but i will let the wife buy a genuine part so i don,t have to do it twice !!!!
JimAttrill
You definitely need flexible knuckles to do this job As usual, the leak is caused by a 50p O-ring, which is (of course) not a standard size. There are two types of FPR, one with two pipes and one with three IIRC. They are not interchangeable.
