MikeAK
Hi, What map reading are people getting at idle (800rpm) mines 55kPa,its a standard 3.9 V8. Reads 100 kPa with engine stopped and drops to ~20kPa on overrun, so I think the sensor is working properly. What do people think? 55kPa just seems high to me. Thanks Mike
Hybrid_From_Hell
Engine condition, fuelling and RPM and comp ratio can all effect these. 55 is high(ish), but is OK, 40 ish is more the norm so if solid then worry ye not 20ish on overrun perfectly normal too Nige
Dave W
As Nige says, a bit on the high side. You may be able to bring it down by using more advance - more advance will speed the idle up and then you can close it down by closing the air valve/bypass. Quagmire
My 3.5 idles at 32kPa at (i cant remember the exact figure) 800-850rpm. Thats on LPG. I advanced spark map at idle to the point revs stopped increasing and the MAP value stopped decreasing, then backed it off a few degrees.
