Richard Spandit
The underside of my engine is coated with a thick layer of oil - whether it is still leaking or just remnants from a past leak/change I can't yet tell, but I'd like to clean it up a bit. Should I gunk it and then pressure wash off at the garage or buy a steam cleaner?
Happyoldgit
Any decent engine cleaner and pressure washer should do the trick but remember to protect any water sensitive bits and the effect that some cleaners can have on tarmac etc.

I thought you could drive diesel Landrovers under water (with a snorkel...)? I don't have my own pressure washer so will have to drive to a local garage to ruin their tarmac
Les Henson
Gunk is good stuff, but will eat tarmac. http://www.gunk.eu.com/html/products/731.html Les.

JST
take it off roading then the dust that sticks to it will cover all the oil up and you wont be able to see it or therefore worry about it......
