cookie64
Hi all Just wondering if anyone knows if series 3 doors will fit onto a defender as I quite fancy the removable door tops Thanks Tom

pat_pending
Yes they will, you will need the late S3 anti burst door latches though.
Eightpot
You may (though not positive) also need to change the latch thingy on the B post as the door locks are different, unless you have the early wind up window doors with lift up door handles at the moment. But in the event of a roll over or nasty shunt the doors had a tendency to pop open decanting the occupants. The anti burst lock works on a different principle of a rolling hook similar to a conventional car lock. See images Cheers J
cookie64
thanks for that out of interest will the anti burst locks work with the newer door keepers?
Boris113
If using series doors (instead of early defender doors) with anti-burst locks, you will need to drill holes for the lock barrels, they are in a different place. Harry

Harry That is correct I found a step drill best when I did mine.
Boris113
One other to note is that the door stays are different. You can buy the arms and bulkhead brackets new from LR series or alternativley find someone breaking a series 3. The brackets will line up with the existing holes in your bulkhead door pillars so no drilling required there Harry
