Big.Mike
I'm getting to the point where I can get all the kids and wife into the Defender and something has become a "sticky" issue. What's the best way to clean the headlining? Does anyone have any suggestions on chemicals? Cheers, Mike

godzilla84
I used Auto Glym upholstry cleaner (the spray bottle stuff not the aerosol) to get bicycle chain lube off the head lining of my girlfriends Clio and it worked a treat. Couldnt reccomend it strongly enough.
Stevie D
Very well diluted traffic film remover works a treat with a scrubbing brush for heavier dirt - is it the felt or the plastic type you have?
Big.Mike
Damp cloth with washing up liquid and warm water. Yeah, tried that and it doesn't work... It just moved the muck around!

One of the things I am keen to know, remove the head lining or do it in the truck?

godzilla84
i did the clio in situ. Its a pain in the neck (literally) but worth it. I bought the auto glym stuff to clean the seats in my disco after id been at a pay and play and wondered if it would clear the oil. I was pleasantly surprised. Stevie D
If you are going to take it out the powerwasher works a treat, but don't get the back too wet! Steve

Diablo
When I was rebuilding mine, I used scrubbing brushes and washing up liquid. Cleaned 25 years of crud like a dream.
