It's cheap enough that it doesn't matter too much if it breaks! It runs Android so fairly easy to find suitable Apps or even write them. At this price, it makes a Raspberry Pi look expensive! Adam001
Noticed these coming down in price, get sent links on nearly a daily basis from Groupon! I've got a USB relay board and I'm setting up a carpc in my defender, was toying with the idea of connecting a tablet via wifi to set up a remote desktop so I can control my cars accessories via the tablet...wildly unnecessary...but cool! Big.Mike
The eternal question is "how do they do it for that price!"... We've got a similarly priced tablet at work to disassemble a they use the same audio chip set were looking to use. It's pretty good considering. mickeyw
Not sub £50, but I bought a Google Nexus 7. I have found it to be so versatile for use on LR related matters. I have WSM and parts books in PDF on there, so great in the garage, and when traveling away from home. The touch screen doesn't mind grubby fingers either. It also runs Memory Map qct files using MM tracker. The built-in GPS is truly phenomenal in accuracy and still gets a strong signal when indoors. Need to sort out an in car mount for it now. Great for browsing LR4X4 too
simonr
It struck me it was cheap enough just to use for instrumentation. Combined with something like this: http://www.canakit.com/Media/Manuals/UK1104.pdf Which has 4 relay outputs and 6 Analogue inputs, it wouldn't be that hard to make a decent digi-dash with a touch screen display.
