Installing DRL

I would like to add some DRL lights to the landy so recently bought 10 1.5W eagle eye LED's like these:

I will install these lights just under the headlight bezel on the landy, evenly spaced with 5 on each side.

To wire in these lamps legally, they must be in accordance with EC directive R97/28 and ECE R48. OK, the placement is not going to be a problem with fenders but the DRL must switch off "automatically" when switching on vehicle lights. This is where I need help, how do I wire them in so that they work as they should? I'm a bit confused with this as the side light can't be on when your using the DRL lamps and the DRL must turn off automatically when you switch on the headlights. When the headlights are on, you now need the side lights again.

They just need a feed from an ign live thru a 5 tag relay via the load tags 'load feed' and 'load live when relay is off'

then run a sidelight feed to the 'switch on' tag

so ign on = DRL on

ign on /sidelights on = DRL off

cheers

If I'm following you right Steveb, your talking about a relay that has (2) 87 poles, 87a, 87b ?

I bought http://www.lidl-service.com/cps/rde/xchg/SID-FCC78ACB-F894C27A/lsp/hs.xsl/product.html?id=27846947&title=LED-Tagfahrlicht+&count=1'>these for my Disco 1 and they came with a full instruction manual and all the cabling and the relay too, bargain as last set at 10 euro :)

Will see if I can dig out the manual or find something online for you that can explain it far better than me
