john(currie)
The o/s headlight in my discovery 2 has condensation in it. Loathe to fit a new one, any suggestions? John(Currie)
jackmac
Hairdryer? That's what we were recommended to do with a double glazed window that got some condensation in it
PaulN
Further to ther above....Use a hole punch (like a belt or boot lace hole) and put a hole in the grommet cap at the back. If you're worried about water ingress then weld/glue a small length of rubber fuel/vac pipe and set it downwards. The lamp interior needs to breathe and evacuate moisture when its warm other wise it will always re-condense when case or glass gets cold. HTH. Tanuki
Get into the habit of always driving with your headlamps on. The heat from the bulbs will evaporate/displace the condensation and prevent it from returning.
teabag
I assume u have a 'facelift' D2 as it's a known problem with them. They already have venting fitted but sometimes it doesn't work on one or the other lamps. Funny but removing the oneway vent and leaving it out cures the problem, and although it's not there, according to owners that have done it, rain water doesn't enter into the lamp. Try it and see, of course if u have the early glass lamps then the glass sealing is iffy, so resealing or better still replace the lamp. rdw
I used a hairdryer and left the vent plug off, not had a problem since. rdw
