need4speed
There are 3 outlets on my base which appear to be for hoses of varying sizes. I understand the largest will prob be for brake servo vacuum? What are the other 2 for? Do i even need them? While im at it, is there anything i should overhaul/check on the plenum itself before refitting? Bowie69
One engine breather, next to the throttle body, one cruise, and one large for the servo as you say. There are minor differences between bases on the various guises of engine, but the above suit most. Got a pic? Might help to get confirmation. need4speed
Thanks Nige. What about the single one on the other side?
mikec
Should that not be the other way around or do they only bolt on one way? The servo take off on mine is on the drivers side anyhow
Hybrid_From_Hell
Trumpet base can go on either way around
need4speed
So what about the single one on the other side? Im guessing i can blank it off as well? Would i be correct in thinking i only need the brake servo connection?
mikec
The other side is for the rocker breathers. You won't be able to use the standard breather pipes, with the it on that way round
need4speed
Ahhh rocker cover breathers. Thanks for that! I will turn the plenum base round. That way i can connect the rocker cover breathers, and the brake servo connector will be on the correct side for the brake servo.
Bowie69
Yup, as above, rocker breather, make sure you use the right T-piece, as it has a restrictor in it (4mm IIRC) otherwise you will never get the idle down/right.
need4speed
T- piece? I thought the only T-piece i had to worry about was for the MAP hose?
Bowie69
See pic: 34 goes to flame trap on RH breather, 37 goes to small inlet on trumpet base, 33 is the special T-piece with restrictor. ERR4765 for the T, if you don't have one, but can find them on any RV8 EFI application, pre ~1995.
