o_teunico
After seeing Adam´s expedition LR with double alternator, here is the question: can it be done in a Disco or that second alternator will foul the bonnet? Where can I obtain the brackets? (Gwin Lewis has a kit for 300 Tdi, but have not seen it for the 200).
Diesel_90
Gwyn does do a kit for both 200's defender and disco.
Orgasmic Farmer
Yep. I have done it on a 200 disco with a home made bracket. Simples..
o_teunico
Will contact Gwin then. Thanks!
Adam001
If that fails earlier in my build thread it shows the fairly simple bracket and pivot So long as you have reasonable welding skills it's not too hard to fab something up.
zardos
Check out Gwyn's Ebay store (his web site does not have all the options) http://stores.ebay.co.uk/gwynlewis-4x4/Twin-Alternator-Mounts-/_i.html?_fsub=3850313018&_sid=1002163458&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322
o_teunico
I will consider both options. Thanks.
o_teunico
It looks simple and effective. Any part # of that Renault alternator you are using?
Adam001
I'll grab the number for you tomorrow. I have just re-sprayed my car so can't lift the bonnet! My bracket only works with the air compressor, that's why I went for my own solution.

I've been checking Gwyns site for about two years looking for one of those!!! I didn't know he had more options on ebay! Does that guard plate at the front cover up the hole for checking the timing? Not a big deal I suppose...

It does cover up the timing hole, no dramas really, very easy to tension it up It looks simple and effective.Any part # of that Renault alternator you are using? Part no in photo... I opted to use a 13mm pulley to work with the ac pulley, far superior to the 10mm belts
