jonost24
What would be the best route to take for the VR wire? I've heard it can pick up "noise" if routed in certain places?
Chazza
What I plan to do, is set a hand-held radio off-channel and hold it near various components when the engine is running, to see how noisy they are; then plan the route to take. From what I have read noisy components are: high-tension leads; alternator; coil. The sensor wire should be shielded, with the shielding earthed at one end only, so that it doesn't become a conductor itself, Cheers Charlie
Bowie69
If shielded it should be fine anywhere, but if you want to avoid noisy places, it is alternator and coil packs. Not ever heard of interference causing issues though, the voltages the VR sensors produce are quite high actually...
Mr Noisy
Mine runs up the bank 1 side of timing cover then passes CTS and joins in with bank 1 injector loom, to bulkhead then along back of engine over to meet EDIS at corner of engine bay Zero problems
FridgeFreezer
It's also a differential signal, so fairly noise immune. I'm sure many running MS direct with no EDIS would have more problems as the MS direct coil drive setup is much more prone to noise and interference, which is one of the reasons we like EDIS.
