istruggle2gate11
I have just purchased a universal 4 wire Lambda (oxygen) sensor off the bay of E. It has 4 wires, 2 white, 1 black, 1 grey. But came with no wiring instruction, a quick hunt around the web (here) seems to suggest that the universal wiring for the sensors is black signal, grey earth, white heater. So are white wires 2 x live? or 1 x live and 1 x earth in any combo?
rtbarton
Those are the connections on my Fiat Punto one. I suppose it doesn't matter which way round the two heater wires go. The white heater wires are +12 and earth, however I'm given to understand that the heater earth is controlled by the ECU

jules
It may be a bit late but if you get a Aus spec ECU you don't need lamber sensors at all.. rumor has it there is a little more poke to..
FridgeFreezer
What they said - the two white 'uns will be heater, they don't matter which way round they're connected. Generally I connect them as above, if you don't get between 0 and 1v out of it (or you get -1v) then you have the black & grey reversed. Stick spade connectors on and it's an easy switch and you won't damage anything by having those wrong. Jules - a nice idea but Rog is going MS, none of this open-loop Lucas nonsense
