Soren Frimodt
Picked up the parts from the galvanizer today, for my Dads project, who guesses what vehicle it's for, first??

ian_s
my first thought was 101 but i thought the chassis rails were totally straight on those
Soren Frimodt
hehe yes you are quite right lads They are completely straight, but with reinforcements welded to the underside, not very pretty though. These chassis bare clear evidence of being hand made in the UK Needless to say my Dad is well chuffed. he also had the pillars for the bulkhead gaved (the rest of the bulkhead is Ali) and the front bumper, which we had altered to fit a winch, and all bracketry with regards to the body work
bill van snorkle
From memory, the 101 chassis didn't have many crossmembers. Can you detect any twisting or other distortion after galvanising ?
Soren Frimodt
It lacks the crossmember at the bellhousing, other than that it's pretty much as a basic Series chassis. (except for a different design on crossmembers) We haven't checked thoroughly for straightness, however it lay flat on the concrete on the spring hangers at all four corners so it can't be far off, it might even be less crooked than before when Land Rover had seemingly welded it outside in freezing weather!
