No steering stop lock strike plates can't find part number

Recommended Posts

While stripping my swivel housing assembly down I realised there is no strike plate for the steering lock adjustment.
Is it common for them to be missing ?
Tried looking for part numbers and even searched on EverythingcheapBay no luck
If I had some decent scrap metal knocking about I could have fabricated some with a saw angle grinder and drill.
As I haven't had a problem in the past wondering if I actually need them ?
Any advice or suggestions !

That might explain why can't find them.

Been watching you tube video on swivel housing strip down and rebuild and there is one on that vehicle early defender.

Remember there was one on my old series 2a but wasn't sure if later defender has them.

Bolts there so no problem thanks.
