Guys,

Trying to remove the paint from my new bulkhead prior to galvanising.

I have tried Nitromors and celly thinners and no luck removing it....

Any ideas what type of paint it is and what I could try to remove it?

Help appreciated as always.

Regards

Grant

Why not call your galvanisers and find out if they have a dip bath to remove paint first? If heated be wary! Have you done a search on the forum, some very useful info a couple of weeks ago on galv bulkheads.

well its like this.............

I decided to buy an new bulkhead and get it galved,

I am going to get the external areas bead blasted however the galvers insist the paint has to be removed from the internal cavities as they insist all paint and oil has to be removed first, hence the situation!!

I wanted to use a chemical treatment if possible (water soluble would be good... yeah and pigs can fly ;) )

I think I will have a word with my local paint shop to see what they think.

The other alternative is to go down the dinitrol route which will probably be more expensive in the long run.

I appreciate your advice all

Grant
