miketomcat
We are going to Exeter this weekend for a show and figured we'd make a weekend of it. So we are looking for somewhere to stay in the rooftent (possibly with the trailer as well). It will be Saturday night for sure but possibly Friday night to. We are completely self contained so need only a spot and needs to be cheap. Anyone got some recommendations looking to get it sorted asap. SPendrey
We've stayed at Webbers Park, Woodbury before. Nice flat pitches, showers etc. More of a caravan place than camping. Good location between Exeter and Exmouth, and a short stroll from the pub (Malsters Arms) which does lovely food too. The only issue with the village (Woodbury) is that paying with plastic seems to have passed most of them by (except the campsite and the pub). Paul Woodward
Stayed at this one on a recent laning trip. http://manorfarmcows.co.uk/ No frills site with decent showers/toilet block.
Landrovernuts
Teign House pub has a field that does camping in the Teign valley. Area of outstanding natural beauty, edge of Dartmoor and only 7 miles form Exeter (westpoint - if you are going there is 8 miles!) and of course next to a pub! If you do not like the Teign House pub, there is the Nobody Inn and the Manor within 1 mile. http://teignhouseinn.co.uk.gridhosted.co.uk/ Toby
miketomcat
Thanks for the suggestions so far I'm waiting for manor Farm to get back with a price (there website is vague). Teign house is full shame as this looked perfect. Any others? Mike
Dan110
This place http://www.berrybarton.co.uk is in Branscombe, about 20-30 mins east of Exeter and not bad. More of a caravan park but they have a pretty relaxed camping field. Footpath straight from the field down to the beach (steep, bit of a hike), couple of pubs in walking distance and a nice quiet village, farm stuff to watch if you've got kids... Landrovernuts
You could try the Nobody Inn in Doddiscombsleigh as they have a field and it is slightly closer to Exeter than the Teign house. They have done some camping before but then stopped, however if you mention Toby said to try they may! Speak to Sue as she is the boss. http://www.nobodyinn.co.uk/ Toby
Roverdrive
I can recommend Parkers in Woodland http://www.campsite-review.co.uk/Devon/Ashburton/Parkers_Farm_Holiday_Park.html
Paul Woodward
Re Manor Farm I couldn't get a reply by email or phone. We just turned up, no one at reception, pitched up, no one at reception in the morning, put the money through the farm letterbox when we left!!
