wobble_hd
Could someone please help me with locating the W-terminal on a 2.5NAD alternator? I have read that is marked W but I cannot find any markings on it! Thank You!

wobble_hd
possibly not marked or fitted to your alternator But if I would have how would it look? I have 2thick brown cables and one thin black and yellow. I would really like to know how an alternator with a W-terminal looks like? Where would it be? western
depends on which alternator you want to fit it too, a cable connected to one of the internal windins could be sorted to get the required signal, if the body is not marked then the alternator isn't fitted for a rev counter, my 100amp marrelli is & the terminal is a stud terminal on the rear face with 'W' next to it. Ex Member
Mine did not have a terminal. The blue wire was added to get a tach signal. You need a feed straight from the windings before the rectifier.
Lars L
Marius, You don't need a tacho, use the speedo. Rev to 40 kph in 2nd, 60 in 3rd and 80-90 in 4th. If revs are too low, you feel it in your a**.
Megansfolly
90 in fourth i had 111 kph in mine my alnator had a w terminal on my NAD had a big black rubber condom over it. it was in line with the the other three connection but was just a stud sticking out
Lars L
90 in fourth i had 111 kph in mine Well, of course possible, but doesn't make anything but noise. IMO it's better to shift up and get the torque up again.
