  1. Noted, that was my point with the trial shock mount, not enough gap for misalignment, the joys eh Regards Stephen
  2. I thought you wanted to see this finished.............lol If you remember back in my vent panel bulkhead build thread I did mention I might make some new wings due to having to.make a folder to form vent panel Quite happy to let you come up and make some for me .....lol Regards Stephen
  3. Spent the morning tinkering on with bottom suspension mounts, not happy with end result so back to the drawing board My not happiness Some 47mm shaft drilled Machined on the lathe Slot milled out and ends shaped tried for size As you can see it's not wide enough, may just look at some Folded flat bar, will be lighter and not take several hours to make..lol Regards Stephen
  4. Ish.... I've definitely got nearly an inch more travel and that's without compressing the piston shaft bump stop Regards Stephen
  5. Bit more mock up, was seeing if wings will interfere with top suspension mounts, thankfully plenty of room space under the wings well filled now.... regards Stephen
  6. Hmmmmm Best just park that idea up right now !!!!! regards Stephen
  7. I have but I couldn't be a%$#$Ed to move it down... Regards Stephen
  8. Well had an entertaining 1/2hr this morning trying to compress Mr Fox to get hole centre's This did not work only started to bend rod This worked but not enough travel in trolly jack so cable tied it to allow me to put some packing onto jack.. They snapped....so had to start again Finally success, two lots of cable ties this time and a closed spherical bearing centre's of 22" Happy days regards Stephen
  9. Must be something special about them ?????? Regards Stephen
  10. Bit of lathe work today, bushes and pin made for front single link Now for the bushes Sorted regards Stephen
  11. Cough........ Speaking of transfer boxes......... Regards Stephen
  12. Tis nought but a grain of sand for Sid........ Regards Stephen
  13. what about sheets of ptfe, would that do ?? Regards Stephen
  14. This is very true, pre- morphed Sid used to do winch challenges and also modified trials which can be ridiculous and get very damaging The other problem is I tend to think" can I get over, through that"..... In the past people have walked away shaking their heads thinking well he's definitely f£%&£%&ed that, but my ace in the hole is that I can repair virtually any damage to my vehicle, if I couldn't I would have to be more considerate to protect my wallet...lol regards Stephen
  15. What material would you suggest??, I looked at aluminium but nearly £200 for a piece 1m x 1m, obviously I have some mild steel plate 6mm and I may have some 4 or 5mm stainless plate, my preference was aluminium purely to save weight I could also make a laminated skid plate as I have enough 3mm aluminium to put two or three sheets together. Of course there is always the " don't bother" option Regards Stephen
  16. Need to change clutch, release bearing etc, there is no adjustment specifically for the clutch regards Stephen
  17. Shine a torch in push rod may have pushed through pressed dimple in fork, quite a common problem, if this is the case then you will need to pull the box back to get at it I'm afraid regards Stephen
  18. Bush is a hard push on clevis shaft and once clevis thread is into nyloc on nut it will be very very tight, again all things to look at once I'm flexing suspension, may have plenty of mods to do once cycling axles, hope not though regards Stephen
  19. What angle do wide angle props to go ? My double cab has a wide angle prop, but the wide angle seems to be one end ( diff ) only, is this right, bit of a funny one if it is. I had bought double carden props for Sid but looks like they will be useless so I don't want to make that mistake again regards Stephen
  20. Yes, will take a look at that @dangerous doug regards Stephen
  21. Sorted, cannot cut for the prop as yet will need to see what's what on full droop Regards Stephen
  22. That's right Ross a 30mm spherical joint regards Stephen
  23. Started building single link crossmember today, made some decent progress but still a wee bit more to do First had to open a washer out a bit Then cut another Bush in half Previously rolled cups Welded onto a piece of 12mm flat plate Then some 4" x 2" x 1/4" box section Cut up where needed Then joined stuff together Bushes fitted Then clevis, not tightened up yet but you get the idea about the slight cushioning effect Last of all roughly where it will fit and managing to keep it above diff and sump, however I need to cut a section out to allow for prop shaft movement and increase the height of the ends for welding onto the side pieces regards Stephen
  24. Quick question, now that chassis is sitting on axles I guess this is the best time to measure closed prop length due to this position being the point that drive Flanges are closest together?? Regards Stephen
