hello all ,
does anybody know the partnumber for the 2 small half moon seals onder the rocker cover .
i have rocker cover seal ERR2393 but that seal is flat , the seal on the car (discovery 200tdi) has 2 half moon shaped protrusions to seal the hole for the rocker arm assembly.
or do i have the wrong seal ?

so far , reservoir, pipe's and pump are empty , so beter flush the system to get the last bit out off the steering box.
wich is the better choice to fill the system with , ATF or the "newer" steering fluid ?
it's a 300tdi pump with probeble a TD steering box.
-
hello all ,
short question , can you mix ATF power steering oil with STC50519 , or do you have to flush the system if using the later ?

glad you found the number !!
-
just sand it down to bare metal , the number is on the foto just at the edge of the shadow
-
yep , i tought the same , looks very much a number stamped in .
take a piece of sandpaper and it wil show
-
messuring the remaining bits of bearing , it turns out to be a standard 6202 bearing .
-
ok , had a bit of a clean , and the bearing on the shaft side of the motor is a 6203DL , so i can find that local . gasket is Warn 13848 so that is solved .
now i only need the number for the bearing inside the motor , located under the brushholder.
-
hello all ,
does anybody know what the numbers are for the 2 bearings inside a Warn M8000 winch , i need the bearing on the rear of the motor (behind the brushholder) and the bearing in the motor mounting plate next to the drum.
also needed are 2 gaskets for the gearbox , are these only avelable from Warn ?

I am not asking whether it is what people rocomend. I know it is not by the book. I understand the hub on the pump will be mis-aligned in relationship with facotry procedure, but the whole pin-in-hole thing is just because most people changing a belt doesn't have access to the DTI procedure.
what does DTI mean ?

i have the Toyo's on my 110 , as far as i know on stock suspension , tyre's are great , not much roadnoise for a mud terrain.
1 thing to remember , these tyre's are very , and i mean VERY heavy ....
-
i've been to marokko ( and senegal , gambia) in a standard discovery , no lift kit etc . fitted BF goodrich MT , yes ...mud terrains ... found no problems with the tyres , we didn't get stuck in the soft sands and no punctures on the rocky patches ...
for me they were great tyres to use ....
and i found there's more rocks than sand in western-africa

thanks all for the replay , i don't want a "bitsa" so i'll keep looking for the correct axle
-
ok , clear reactions ... i guess i have to look for a original 110 axle then.
does anybody know til what year i can use ? is there a axle number i can use ?
-
hello all ,
short question , is a range rover classic front axle the same unit as a 110 2.5 D from 1987 ?
in short , i want to rebuild a complete (calipers and rotors included) spare front axle , and when finished swap for my current slightly worn front axle , in holland a spare range rover classic axle is easier found then a spare 110 axle ..
(of course it needs to be LHD)
thanks in advance

remove 60 mm from the middle , then use the cutout section to join the 2 half's together with sikaflex and poprivets ....
-
other thing you can try : remove the glowplugs en see if the engine wil turn more than 6 revolutions (maybee there's oil or water on top of 1 cilinder) . if not , remove valve cover and loosen all the set screws for the rockers (or maybee just easier to remove the hole valve train) , if you can turn your engine round the distribution belt has sprung a tooth or more ....
-
just a normal (as in stock) landrover wil do , as mentioned before , do a normal service and your good to go .
been from holland to gambia with a stock discovery , do daily checks on oil, aircleaner, coolant level etc

yep , that's from the rubber pads on the lift .
you may want to look at the rust under the bodycoating !
-
any info on prices ?
-
i think it would bu usefull to measure the temp's , at least you have a baseline to work from.
-
is it possible to measure the hole and bushing with calipers , to see if they match ?
-
scotts90 ,
thanks for the measurement , now i know it should fit .
next step is welding the steering bracket (the welder forgot to change the side of it (used to be a RHD , now converted tot LHD))
then it's to the galvanizing company
