yeh my citroen fan is of similar size to yours and i would amagine it will spin freely when the fan isn't swiched on so would help to keep the rad cool anyway. graham __________________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

i had one like that on mine a few years ago on idle the light was off when reving / driving the light went out when i put a multi metor on it it proved when the charge light was on it was charging and not charging when the light was off so replaced the alternator with a new one. graham _________________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

the citroen xsara fan i bought today rotates clockwise and was fitted in front of the rad on the xsara as it will be on the landy. graham ___________________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

either someone has plated the chassis before to make the rear x member fit or you may have bought an 88" rear x member as a 109 has a larger box section. the idea is you cut the old x member off in the right place dress the ends of the chassis rails and then slide the new x member over making sure all the brackets that hold the body to the chassis all line up then weld it on. graham _____________________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

thanks for that about the voltage stabilizer i think mine are working ok. i managed to get a coolong fan from a citreon xsara seams to fill the front of the rad allowing room for brackets. graham _________________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

Hi guys as many of you know i have a 200 tdi fitted to my s11a swb which i fitted last summer for the past year i have been running it without a cooling fan but with the intention of fitting one later anyway last week and the start of the hot weather my bro decided to buy a second hand caravan and asked me to go with him and pick it up and tow it with my landy as he has never towed anything with his landy ( s11a swb petrol ) so we drove from his house in stockport to macclesfield driving there was ok but driving back to his towing the caravan ( 14ft castleton ) the temp gauge rows between cold and normal where as it normaly stays just outside the cold ( motorway. climbing hills. or town driving ) but didn't go any higher so obviously i need to fit a cooling fan many years ago i fitted an electric cooling fan from a D reg pug 305 to my then s111 petrol which worked fine but don't think there will be any of those in scrap yards now does anyone know what car i need to look for in a scrap yard for a fan that will fit in front of the radiator and good enough to cool the tdi. cheers graham ____________________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

Hi jon no i was just curius as i think it was landyman that said the 8274 is a 9.500lb winch which he says works out about just over 4 tonne warn say its an 8.000lb winch and mine is a 12.000lb winch rated at 4 tonne so i was trying to work out how a 8.000lb / 9.500lb winch is rated at 4 tonne the only thing i can think is that warn sell a 12.000lb winch as an 8.000lb winch knowing that it will pull 12.000lb so when the owner trys it at over the stated 8.000lb they are amaized i totaly agree what you say about my winch as it is a cheep chinese winch but it is my first winch ( starter winch ) so once i have lerned how to use it then i will probably buy a 8274 at a later date. graham _____________________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

thanks everyone for the imput think i mite going electric instead as most peops seam to faver the electric drum winch over the capstan winch my main concerne with the electric winch is that in some cases they tend to overheat if they are being used for long periods or pulling at full capacity so was thinking if i do go electric would i be better going for a 16.500lb winch instead of a 12.000lb winch would my galv chassis cope with it if i did pull to full capacity and also what thickness does the winch plate need to be. graham ________________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

Hi guys thinking about buying a winch for my s11a for off roading use but don't know if to go for a capstan winch or an electric winch i know the capstan winch has a 4 tonne capacity and not sure if you can get a 4 tonne electric winch but if you can which would work best i don't really wan't to fit a big powerfull winch as i think it would do more damage than good aspecially if the back of the landy is strapped to a tree. graham __________________________ 1962 s11a swb 200 tdi.

when i did mine i spent the week before leathering it with WD40 and 3 in 1 oil then spent the weekend trying to remove it and the following week jacking the landy up with all the weight of the landy on the relay and even then it still wouldn't come out in the end i resorted to jacking the landy up as high as i could get it and lowering it fast so the relay landed onto a piece of steel a few times of doing this and eventually it cam out graham ___________________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.
