Have you tried cleaning the tubes/covers they get dirty quite quickly but you never notice until you clean them.

How short do you need it def td5 front prop is 627mm running length just need re phasing.

This 90 itself is fine, but FIVE GRAND! Really?
Also, what makes it a challenge truck?
About another £5k.

We use various trip switches on the boats like you say a fuse that can be reset they work well just more expensive.

The question is can/do you fix your own truck if so buy the one you can fix, if not buy the one you can afford to get fixed. Then find the one in the best condition/you like the most. They are all a pain in the butt, rust, break down and leak but you will end up loving it regardless.

Here's all the main components you just need a longer shaft and tank mods.

In short not without some cutting and welding the mounting positions are different and I think the towbar may not end up vertical.

Glad i'm not the only one I bought a prop tool but don't think it's better so normally end up with two spammers.Jeff
I've always used two spanners. I didn't like the propshaft tool. Although I think it'll be great with a windy gun.

Yes it could do with a lip but that is impossible to mould in was going to add one on 45 but never got around to it. It does mean we don't fill the dash with very useful stuff that fall's out off-road. Teresa suggested a grab handle or cargo net there but that's the point you can do what suits.

Ah that explains it the wife did say some bloke had a look at the dashboards but steamed to know more about them than she did :-b (not hard I must say).I Stumbled upon Mike's fancy defender dashboards which looked very nice; Mike was off somewhere else at the time tho.

This thread has a fairly complete list of prop lengths in it.

Don't use silicone I you ever want to paint any where near it silicone in my opinion only has two uses round your bath and in an emergency as a gasket (even then I'll use cardboard first). PU sealant all the way.

Sounds like a leak get out there with a hose aim at likely leak areas with someone inside run the hose on said area for 5mins then move on to the next area remember water can go uphill but only by puddleing to said level.

HELP
Condensation or water ?
How do I work out the difference ?
Condensation doesn't appear with a hose pipe. So pick a nice dry week air it out then at the end of the week drown it if there's none inside it's condensation. Or same again but at the end of the week sleep in it with everything closed (on a dry night) if there's none inside your ventilation is good enough but you have a leak.

Lt230 is the transfer box and yes it's the one fitted to all 90/110/130's. Your biggest problem will be getting a shaft through as it can't be straight and your fuel tank is in the way. Both not a major problem you could fit a 90 under seat tank though the filler may need work or a custom with a hole/channel through. The shaft will need some uj's and support bearings to "bend" it round things.

That's the fella though the ones I've seen have been second hand and have gone for around £250.... and there is new one on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-SUPERWINCH-SOCKET-POWER-P-T-O-KIT-DEFENDER-90-110-FRC5375-FTC988-/150939607537

There have been 3 rear facing pro's on eBay over the last year all looked the same all for the lt230 I think they may of been a fairey/superwinch product and they all had a standard looking propshaft output flange.

Ross have a look at 45's chassis next time you see it it's like that all the way down both chassis rails even my MOT man's only commented on the state but never advisoryed it.

Mine was like that on both tomcat and 110 I couldn't find a fix but it didn't seem to cause a problem either.

We have a similar workshop at the boat yard but ours is a reefar box off a refrigerated lorry so already lined and insulated.

I'm not sure whether yours will be metric or imperial but you can buy a complete set all made to the correct lengths with fittings already done for around £80 from I think it's automec easily found on eblag all you have to do is bend, fit and tighten.

I think that goes down to the battery box if so it needs to be disconnected in the battery box pulled out into the tunnel then pulled up into the engine bay there maybe several clips holding it in place. Once at this point all the wires that go through those two grommets (one each side of the engine bay) must be withdrawn into the cab along with those two grommets and the grommet that came out of the battery box. In short the bulkhead loom and fuse box etc leaves the car via the door not the bonnet hope that helps.

You just need to strengthen your current one if your any where near Southampton or can get it here I can do something with it failing that find a boatbuilder near you.

I've got to carpet the floor pans I don't want to scratch the carbon fibre. (rofl)You'll be telling us you plan on fitting carpet in the footwells next!
Not sure on tunnel finish yet I may just carpet it for the IVA or I may fill fair and paint it ready to accept a cubby box etc later.
