I've always used two spanners. I didn't like the propshaft tool. Although I think it'll be great with a windy gun.

Glad i'm not the only one I bought a prop tool but don't think it's better so normally end up with two spammers.

  2. Yes it could do with a lip but that is impossible to mould in was going to add one on 45 but never got around to it. It does mean we don't fill the dash with very useful stuff that fall's out off-road. Teresa suggested a grab handle or cargo net there but that's the point you can do what suits.

  3. I Stumbled upon Mike's fancy defender dashboards which looked very nice; Mike was off somewhere else at the time tho.

Ah that explains it the wife did say some bloke had a look at the dashboards but steamed to know more about them than she did :-b (not hard I must say).

  4. Sounds like a leak get out there with a hose aim at likely leak areas with someone inside run the hose on said area for 5mins then move on to the next area remember water can go uphill but only by puddleing to said level.

  5. HELP

    Condensation or water ?

How do I work out the difference ?

Condensation doesn't appear with a hose pipe. So pick a nice dry week air it out then at the end of the week drown it if there's none inside it's condensation. Or same again but at the end of the week sleep in it with everything closed (on a dry night) if there's none inside your ventilation is good enough but you have a leak.

  6. Lt230 is the transfer box and yes it's the one fitted to all 90/110/130's. Your biggest problem will be getting a shaft through as it can't be straight and your fuel tank is in the way. Both not a major problem you could fit a 90 under seat tank though the filler may need work or a custom with a hole/channel through. The shaft will need some uj's and support bearings to "bend" it round things.

  7. I'm not sure whether yours will be metric or imperial but you can buy a complete set all made to the correct lengths with fittings already done for around £80 from I think it's automec easily found on eblag all you have to do is bend, fit and tighten.

  8. I think that goes down to the battery box if so it needs to be disconnected in the battery box pulled out into the tunnel then pulled up into the engine bay there maybe several clips holding it in place. Once at this point all the wires that go through those two grommets (one each side of the engine bay) must be withdrawn into the cab along with those two grommets and the grommet that came out of the battery box. In short the bulkhead loom and fuse box etc leaves the car via the door not the bonnet hope that helps.
