  1. Hi folks just fitted a 200 tdi into my old td 90, I got a pair of rangie p38 double fans to cool to rad and intercooler. I got a thermo switch from wrights auto supplies at one of the landrover shows . I had an old power feed on a relay that powered up some 9" lights that used to be on the front of the truck. The guy that was fitting the engine ect wired the fans up to this and they worked for a little while and have now stopped. Ive traced the wirring back to a in line 15a fuse that has blown, does anyone know if its safe to put a larger fuse in its place and what size should I use and is it safe to wire a set of doube fans into an old lighting relay? the switch itself came with no instructions, any advise would be greatly appreciated, del
  2. I dont know if its the head gasket because its just had a new one fitted with a skimmed head , the engine is a 200 defender block and a discovery head . It has been at the garage for the conversion for a couple of months . Every week i was going up there the engine was open to the elements rain water every were. I was going to take it for a run today to see if that helps , like i said ive got to take it back to him next week for new oil ect .
  3. hi all just had a 200 tdi put into my old td 90 ,got a few teething problems and i have to go back to the garage to have the engine flushed out and new oil and filters fitted as i have some mayo in the engine , the problem ive got at the moment is when i turn the engine over it starts first time but runs lumpy like its missfiring and blows out loads of smoke, my mechanic recons its probably a blocked injector and i should try a bit of injector cleaner. Once warm it seems to even out does anyoune have any ideas?

  17. Hi all as you might have guessed from my other posts im putting a disco 200 tdi into my td 90, I was just looking at the steve parker web site that shows a pipe kit for £65 as im on a tight buget i was noticing that the two main pipes look like the standard defender 200 top and bootom hose , theres a couple of smaller bore hoses and what looks like a couple of metal joining pipes. I was just wondering if anyone had come across this kit ,is it neccesary to buy ,or can you just buy the standard top and bottom pipes and if so what other pipes would i need?,cheers del
  18. Cheers thats what a guy at billing was telling me , I picked up a td5 pipe and thats got a 180 degree bend on it, thanks western I looked at the little drawing on the archive its very informative
