  2. Hi all took my 90 into my mates garage last week to find out my 90s 19j turbo diesel engine has excessive crank case pressure and has developed oil leaks around the turbo, he recomended fitting a 200tdi from a discovery .What extra bits do I need for this job apart from the donor vehicle ? Surely I need a exhaust downpipe? ,do I need a wiring loom to link up the new engine? any advice would be welcome ,cheers del
  3. Dont know how to cure the drafts, ive got the same problem changed the front doors to a slightly later type and the rubbers and still get the wind whisteling through!!

Hi all got a 1988 90 , in the last couple of months ive noticed when I get it the truck in the morning the clutch pedal is slack and has on presure on it until I pump it a couple of times and then it comes back as normal, this morning was the same again but took a while to work ,like something is stuck, dont know if its down to the frezzing tempretures. Is the clutch knackered and needs changing?,the biting point is very high at the top of the pedals travel, cheers del

  9. Hi all got a 2.5l td 90,had the glow plugs changed last year but still seems to take a good time to turn over in the mornings and its seems to lack a bit of power on motorway runs, its the old 19j engine and it puffs out black then grey smoke on start up(wich clears eventualy) dont know if anyone has had the same prob, cheers del
  10. just put a posting on the series 2 forum and they seem to think that all the mot centres will be given a chart with weights on them as a guide ,but I think i will go dowm the check the vin line and post off the v5 as i like using my usuall mot ststion as hes "landrover freindly"
  11. I was reading in landrover owner magazine that from jan 2010 if your landie has a revenue weight of more than 3000kg you have to reapply for a v5 so that you can get an mot at a standard mot station, otherwise you have to get it tested at a class 7 lorry mot station. my 90 is classed at 3499kg,and the article it was saying that to verify that your vehicle is under the 3499kg you have to take a picture of the weight plate inside the engine comparment and send this off with the old v5 to get your landie reclassed, has anyone heard of this??
  12. My other half uses a mould remover aroumd the house ,it comes in a spray bottle ,maybe that would work

  15. had a similar sound ,turned out to be (in my case) two worn out universal joints that were badly worn
  16. John craddock may have the parts you need , failing that try exmoor trim, there used to be a company called "all wheel trim" they used to carry all the parts for landrover softtops but I dont know if they went down in the recession there old web page had loads of bits on it

  18. I think there is a small tag on the side of the barrel that you push in that clicks into the lock mechanism, and you have to press it in to remove it,-i think not too sure- hope this helps
  19. I had a rattle on my 2.5l td ,it turned out to be a exhaust bracket that was suppost to be bolted to the engine block, wasnt! Cut a bolt to suit and fixed it back which made the rattle move to a different place
  20. Hi all bought a clutch a while back ,clearing up the garage today I found it in a corner in its box and its gone a bit rusty ie the flat plate,is it still usable? ,cheers del

Just wondering has anyone tried the new seat rails avalible from craddocks that are suppost to give you an extra 4" leg room,do they work? were does that legroom come from if youve already got the seat back as far as it goes?
