  3. yes think this is the route iam going cos at 200 quid +VAT for a new one It was full of mud so i guess will need to bodge up some thing or clean it out once a year .............or stay out of the Mud (yer right) thanks all for the input
  4. yer your right i havent got it torgued up any where near as high as it was... but plently of thread lock , and got to drop a new gear box in next month, so i will be able to get some thing on the fly wheel to lock it off nice and solid . out of interest how does the proper tool work, as i did have access to these Difflock tools but was not going to torgue it up against the flywheel locking pin as i didnt want to snap it (as the tools were not mine).
  5. the whole cam belt change went fine no problems but this is what i found when the damper had been removed (note the hammer marks) no chance of putting a new sealing that... there was tons of mud etc in the case but the belt was still ok, The truck had a full service history so i know the cam belt was last replace by a garage..... I cleaned it all up and back together now and running sweet (the timming was out too). so does any body have a disco 200tdi timing case cover for sale? sorry dont have enought posts to post in the classifieds section yet ...

  7. the guys in the US body lift landrovers you can even buy kits Rovertym Engineering think you have lengthen the steerring column and lift the rad plus have exta long seatbelt mounts..... and prob lots more
  8. thanks with fit it through the pump cover... I rember now seeing the kits with that round plate in them.
  9. Just trying to work out the best way to fit a breather to the timing case on my 200tdi. how have people on here done it ? and what did they use? thanks for any help
  10. use google to check the motherboad specs of your machine but I think you will only get away with IDE ATA100 will def not beable to use SATA or SCSI they use diff connectors (square peg round hole type thing) if you are talking performance to price SATA is very good i can get over 60M per second write speed to a one of those.. hope this helps

  12. I was going to try with my air gun first.... if that didnt work i quite liked the starter method but whats FIP stop solenoid ? pls excuse my ignorance still new to diesel engines... my guess was the glow plug solenoid
  13. Nope not got any locking tools was going to use a drill bit on the pump and then line the dots up.... at least your MG's running (its a 1975 MGBGT v8) almost finshed now then off to the mot...
  14. thanks for the input , so here is my shoping list ... 1 Timing Belt 1 Tensioner 1 Idler 1 Front Cover Gasket 1 Water Pump Gasket 1 Front cover crank seal hope that will that cover it. yep going to be loving that crankbolt
  15. going to change the belt this month what else if any thing do people sugest should i replace while iam there? thanks for any input oppps forgot to add its a 200tdi
  16. thought i would join in this thread my old disco makes a very good tow truck when not in the mud even with MT's and lift the rib goes ok to....
