  1. Hi all. Cut a long story short I bought a mig welder complete with a big bottle while I was at college and managed to get a full bottle from there.this was obviously a boc bottle. So anyway since then I've managed to use it all could someone advice me the best way to go. Maybe like a few people say and try a rent free or does anyone no anyone who knows anyone who has a contract with boc that would be willing to exchange . I'm in the Warminster, Wiltshire Regards Ben
  2. I just sold my converted 1989 200tdi for 3.5 disco axles mint all roud full respray new servo master etc
  3. Haha, well thanks guys. You have successfully put me off the discos. Maybe ill try and find a diesel p38? Or would you like to put me off them too.?
  4. Although it's apparently 04 the reg plate says 02? So not really sure haha
  5. it's a Landrover Discovery Metropolis black leather full mot sports exhaust new pads brand new tyres aircon sat nav in roof electric sunroofs
  6. Ok. Usual land rover suff then. What are they like on road. I do alot of miles?
  7. Afternoon all. first time on disco page, usually on defender. Im selling and was going to swap to a P38 but I have been offered a disco 2. I just want a quick summery of what I need to look for? I believe its a td5? Whats the common faluts? what sort of mpg would I be expecting? whats your opinion on a reasonable price? I appreciate some of these questions are hard to answer but any pointers would be appreciated as ive never touched a disco before? many thanks Ben
  8. P.S. I appreciate it may have taken people a fair bit of time to make these and it may seem somewhat cheeky asking for them. I will be making a donation to the forum when I sell the truck for all the help I have received. Thanks Ben
  9. Evening all. Just a quick one, have finally finished my 1989 90 with engine axle change etc that I bought for 500 notes and just sold it for 3500 dont want to sell but times are hard as we no especially after getting a redundancy letter. Anyway long story short just downloaded this memory map thing as I want a few days play before the buyer collects. So was wondering if anyone could please send me an overlay or whatever I need for strata and any routes worth taking in that area. I dont usually plan trips this well but its a 4 hour drive each way and only have a limited time before the buyer comes so dont want to get lost like usual. Make the most of my time wirh the old girl. Help would be much appreciated, cheers Ben
  10. I left a windscreen company to fit a new windscreen in my 1989 defender with the seal. Came back to find it fixed in eith that adhesive silicone stuff. No leaks etc now but I am not going to be removing it should it crack. Ill be taking it to the idiot that put it in. I would try and keep sealant to a minimum mainly for ease of removal should you break it
  11. I would hate to disagree woth you Mr spike but 8n fear of damage I would use as a last resort on a defender. I have worked for t h whites (local new holland dealer) and battled away for a good few hours on a combine wheel then the foreman came out and used your technique and made me look like a big pillark
  12. My wiper moves a good 7" sitts anywjere between the corrwct posision and straight up vertically and sailed through mot. Luck of the draw who you get alot of the time!? In my view it shouldnt be but I gues thats the way tje world goes round
  13. I agree that its silly to go with no spare. However I have been running with no spare for quite a while as I went through 2 back windows then changed to perspex and took wheel mount off the door. If im going off road or on a decent drive I chuck it in the back. Someone said earlier that its dangerous but im afraid I have to disagree. I had a head on with a tree :$ at around 50mph and it stopped me dead the back window shattered (3rd window) and spare wheel flew into the back of the middle seat and hardly made a mark. Even if you rolled it cant be alot worse than a load of tools and a gun rolling round tje cab with you. Spoke from experience. Conclusion in my view: if you have a spare at home and someone willing to come out to your local area where you are. Why bother? I have a few spare sets dotted around and chances are theres going to be a mate at home, local to drop one off with 10 20 miles of them and not moan too much. No legislation to say you require a spare in EU from what I am aware.
  14. In actual fact to adjust the brake pedal is possible from taking the brake servo out and theres an adjuster inside. Did it to my 1989 90 hard top only a few weeks ago just about to finish a deal selling for 3999 quid and bought as a project for 500£ few years ago. Any problems give me a message and ill be glad to help. Where I can but of a late reply I no Best of luck Ben
