I don't get it - you TDi owners are always going on about how they will keep going under water as long as they can breathe!!!

Well of course it's Sven - this hugely famous person that only trainspotter seems to know!!
How do I know it's Sven, by trainspotter's Belgium National post. Otherwise I have no idea who the **** he is
I do know of a very famous Sven though in off-roading circles. You'll have to speak to Simonr about it over a few beers to find out who he is though.

Had a very good time too. X-Trem I think stands for let's drive you to the extremities of France on green lanes rather than extreme off-roading. The green laning was good for some of the views and to see the villages towns in Belgium and France but after a 100 miles of it you expect more than an hour at a site, which was ok but nothing special. XX-Trem next time I think, as they seemed to have a good time and went to some good sites.
Enjoyed the trial on the Sunday though and enjoyed company and catching up with everybody.
Tony you are right the show was dull - I fell asleep and was only woken up by the fireworks!!. It was that dull that it put me off my beer!! Now that's saying something.
Thanks to all of those taking the lead and for Chris loaning me a side mirror glass.

Hi Donald
Tried vehicle wiring products, no joy. I will try Europa, but everywhere seems to be drawing a blank.
Nevermind I'm sure I can solve it somehow, or I can drive back down the A14 and look for the indicator unit that was there until Sunday.

Anyone know a source for the multi-way connectors used on the P38 Range Rover. LR only supply them with loom.
I'm after a two way one for the front indicator.Would post a part no. but I lost my electrical troubleshooting manual when the laptop went belly up.

Hi Si
Theyare made by BEP Marine, in NewZealand. In NZ the cluster costs about $145, so probably about 150 pounds here as usual for 50 or 90 Amp versions. The 300A VSR on it's own is $155, so a heavy duty cluster would be about $250 you can view some prices here..www.discount-marine.co.nz

Nige you need to write in complain on their vagueness and give them the exact no. of pages of adverts.

I thought this post might get you going Nige
As for the free first issue, I was thinking more like the free gift idea you see for those collectors magazines on TV and then have a gift with each magazine.
For example have an Oil Filter for the first one at the heavily discounted cost of 1.99. Then once I have a readership of 50,000 like LRO I will be able to negotiate a good discounts on parts and offer a spare part with each mag. Maybe a CV for one month, propshaft the next etc etc. Obviously the price of the mag will have to alter each month depending on the cost of the part!
Obviously I'll have to consider my distribution routes like the Newsagents and Smiths etc so I think wings rear tubs etc will be out of the question as shelf space is limited.
I could do a build a Defender from scratch offer with parts but I think that will take about 80+ years!!
As for the title suggestions, great keep them coming...

Thanks for all of your posts on the new Magazine Article Ideas post.
I have a confession to make I'm thinking of starting a magazine. I've done the hard bit and got the advertisers on board and needed something to put between the adverts, so thanks!!
Now for a title, This is hard as all of the good ones are already taken so I was thinking about ..
"Land Rover every four weeks"
Now I know that you all think the magazines are mostly the same so I needed a differentiator! So I thought hard about this one and it suddenly came to me. I will put on the mag the actual month it's published in rather than the next month!! - Good hey!
So what do you think?? Will you subscribe??

everyone who matters seems to be here too.

I do like the approach of Devon 4x4 and a few others of integrating the winch into a new rear crossmember. Very neat solution...
With a shallower winch you could even avoid cutting into tub loadspace

I've seen a number of people bemoan the lack of good articles in the LR/Off-Roading mags so I thought I'd start a thread to see what people wanted to see.
So post your articles here that you want to see in the mags.
To start the ball rolling I tought of a couple that I haven't seen yet..
Plasma ropes - A series of articles on What types, How to splice, how to handle (or how not to handle ) Which one for which winch
Winches - A series of articles on break down of main components, how to pick one, when and how to service, waterproofing, pros/cons of different types

Bish - the benefit with trying them without first is you get to know when to put them in, it's just no good when you get stuck trying it without them in first
Tony Who would ever forget to put their diff lock in????? I never would

I think that ARB's need 100-110psi IIRC.
I have a small 3l dive bottle at home just sitting there, hadn't thought about using this. Anyone know where I would get some converters to fit to the dive bottle DIN connector

I agree Dave
Hey guys why aren't any of you posting?? You don't have to give us answer if one doesn't exist yet just your view of what's happening.
It's no good none of you posting and staying quiet and this wait and all will be ok **** was ok when we were on LRE forum and you had your reasons for that approach, but not now!!
Steve

ok then it looks like this is the one to use.
Trev The Pirate 4x4 one, (Scott at rockstomper.com) is not possible when you have a thimble and hook on, although it does seem to be most popular and most secure method.
Cheers
Steve

yeah, I've seen the ruftracks method before. I wasn't sure how secure it is as it is just weaving the ropes in and out and no-one else seems to adopt that method.
