  1. What about lining the innards of the steel cavity with something to help ........... http://www.ipcpack.com/stock.htm
  2. What's the difference between the vdo sender and the one that's already in my 200tdi disco transplant engine?
  3. I had an issue last year with a similar problem. I changed my old springs and shocks for Terrafirma std height shocks and hd colour coded springs all round. It's only a 90 but I needed hd springs because of the heavy loads that I regularity carry and also for a future winch and bumper which will be fitted. With the landy as std and only a roof rack fitted, the thing looked like it was pulling a wheeling with one side higher than the other - and not how you would expect, the pass side was higher than the drivers.(All the springs were on the correct corners). Needless to say the springs were returned and changed, this time to some hd Flatdogs - std height, which have cured the issue and now its all level with or without a heavy load.
  4. Gaskets should be ok on their own as long as the mating faces are good as this is the way it was originally assembled. Don't forget to torque them up though - 60-70 Nm from memory ;-)
  5. From memory 3/8 unf as I required some myself last year. Spoke to Craddocks about it and they swore blind that they were m10 and didn't believe me when I said unf.
  6. I did this last year, just sent the v5 with the new engine number on it and got a new v5 about 7 days later.
  7. It's more like this Steve http://www.martrim.co.uk/catalogue/wool-headlining.htm. I am waiting for a sample to come to see how close the colour match is.
  8. I did look there Western but they don't have the right colour in the wool variety. Yep same one Retroanaconda, I'm tired of trying to find a matching rear part and that's why I'm going to make one. May have to start looking at marine suppliers.
  9. Hi guys, I have a 90 with a furry white~ish front headline and I would like to have the same type / colour material in the rear for the liner that I am going to make myself but I am at a loss where to get the material from. Does anyone know of anywhere that sells this type of material because I am struggling like hell and thinking I need to change my plans. Thanks PH
  10. A friend of mine replaced his with a Britpart one and he was non too impressed when it failed after 6 months. Have you thought about putting one on from a breakers if your only running for another year? You could get a whole starter for £30.
  11. Pop over and see Mike at AMD. I fitted one of his a month or two ago without any issues.
  12. It was a small disc - maybe 2'' diameter - in an air tool on a smallish compressor. Took a while waiting for the compressor to recharge.
  13. I cut mine in situ. Bit of a pig to do but effective.

  15. Paddocks do cheap ones but remember....Buy cheap...... buy twice. Personally I try to work on the principle that any item that could fail and end up putting you in a ditch is worth spending a little bit more on.
  16. My 90 with a disco 200tdi transplant is getting 4 mpg less than it was 2 months ago on fuel from the same garage (Sainsburys)- and that's after a service. Think I might try the ultimate and see what the difference is.
