  1. Forgot to mention that rear lights are working fine. Can I see this fault or do I have to try with new switches? Anyway I won`t be doing this soon beacause grinder accident :angry2: thanks
  2. Thank you. Will have a look and let you know if this was the problem.
  3. Hi. I also have some problems with defender 1990 lights. When I turn lights on, I can only get side lights working. Except when I flash main beam... So no dipped and main beam. The problem already appeard some time ago, but when I slammed the door the problem was fixed Did try this method again today but nothign happned. Would belive that this is bad connection fault somewhere... Anybody experienced situation? Thanks for help Cheers Dejan
  4. This is it. Both shafts the same. Sorry fpr poor quality
  5. On the CV side, on splines. Will post pics. I`m running standard tyres, no locker and not even half of hard terrain as I did with original shafts... Which of mentioned "shopkeepers" has reliable shafts and is not to expensive? If I want to take best shafts for small amount of money?
  6. Ok now I`m a bit angry. They send me another left shaft from paddock. And guess what? Yes, I broke it again... Is it possible to do something wrong while mounting? Are the mesures of halfshafts and CV joints all the same until TD5? I went to 10/32 splines from 10/33. So joints and shafts are both new. Did I do something wrong or am I just so unlucky?? Please help Cheers Dejan
  7. You have lockers and britpart shafts?? I bought shafts from paddock`s which I belive are britparts`s, and broke one in a week on a standard defender. How can this be?
  8. Will try my luck again. At paddock`s don`t want to hear anything about warranty....
  9. Will borrow the topic... I also fit paddocks CV`s last week along with new halfshafts. (10/32 splines) The problem is that I allready broke RH (short one) halfshaft. How could this happened? I`m running standard tyres, without lockers and the terrain wasn`t hard. Can somebody tell me if the quality is so poor or I don`t have any luck with my def
  10. Check vaccum pipes for any bad connections, cuts, leaks...
  11. Oh.. That could be a problem... I`ll just have to rebuild the salisbury and change the front one to discos.
  12. So the problem is in the housing of the axle? The half-shafts are the same? Diferential is strong enough? Thanks for explanation
  13. Hope you don`t mind for borowing your topic...Can I change axles to discos? Rear discos axle is not salisbury, front is the same. Is rear axle strong enough for fully laden 110? I`m going to Iran in september and I want to be shure the car will make it Oh... I have 2.5 petrol def, axle is from 200tdi disco. I think 200tdi and 300tdi axles are the same... let he experts confirm. Cheers
  14. Speed was checked with GPS. I even put the boost gauge on inlet manifold to see if the turbo is not working right, but the gauge shows me 11 psi. I have disco 200tdi, LT77 and 1.22 transfer box, input gear with 26 teeth. It revs just fine, top speed is 60mph, but crusing speed is 55mph. The exhaust is from petrol engine but I`m waiting original for 200tdi. Could this be exhausts fault? Even with original petrol engine and 1.67 t-box I could reach 60mph... So it would be logical to have faster car with stronger engine and faster t-box. Please help
  15. Well I have 235/85 16 tyres. And the speed was checked with the GPS. What can be the fault for this? It seems like the engine is quite on the end with the revs at 60mph...
  16. I have disco 200tdi conversion with 1.2 t-box. With 2.5 petrol and 1.6 t-box top speed was 60mph. But let me say again TOP. Now with 200tdi+ 1.2 top speed is the same. Is this normal? Altough I still have some problems with a busted pipe from turbo to bosch pump...
  17. I allready changed it. anybody? Thank you
  18. I have a question... Last month I converted my defender from 2.5 petrol to disco 200tdi. I also changed the whole clutch kit. Plate, basket, bearing, connecting rod between fork and cylinder... After 400km the clutch just died. It doesn`t pull the basket enough away from the plate and so I can`t change gears while driving. Like there wouldn`t be enough presure in the cylinder to push the fork. I bleed the system for a couple of times but nothing happens. What is the problem? Any experinces? Oh, the new connecting rod is aprox. 1cm longer as the old one. Please help guys. Thank you again P.S.: sorry form my bad english. Trying my best to write as simple as possible
  19. Is there more simple metod to set timing on the pump when I take off the gear from it? Or I have to try each mm at the time?
  20. Dave, pics are from disco engine. I didn`t change the airbox mounts. Conversions look so easy on RHD Might be seen on this photo Don`t have better pics. Cheers Another Q: Does the plastic cover over the engine head and inlet manifold make any diference about the noise?
  21. I don`t have disco air filter housing and that is why I`m asking. Will have to make some miles without air filter to see if the engine gets enough air. So if this airbox is too small and I want to get some more power from the engine I need to buy disco airbox... Thanks for help guys. Cheers
  22. Can anybody tell me if air filter from 2.5 petrol is suitable for disco 200tdi conversion? Does it get enough of air? Are the housings the same? I would like to put in K&N air filter but I don`t know if it`ll fit in petrol housing. Thanks D.
  23. Mark, may I ask if you use original airbox from 2.5 petrol or is it too smal?
