  1. A bit late... Gearbox is great. No more bad syncro problems
  2. For my LT77 Ashcroft recomended ATF dextron 3.
  3. I put disco 200tdi t-box on my 200tdi defender. It is a straight swap. The only thing you`ll have to do is to move brackets for hand brake and drill two holes for it. That is all.
  4. There is a lots of reasons for slacking... My 110 had it in: input gear(a lot), T-box, some in gearbox and at splines of diferentials and CVs. Oh and bushes in the undercariage. If you want to get rid of all of it, it can get quite expensive. But my 110 is MY90 so I probably had more problems as you on your 95
  5. Well I put the pipes as simple as possible. Which pipes are we talking about anyway? Whole bay: As you can see I`m not using original intercooler. Would need more specific info. so I can get you pics. Cheers. D.
  6. I got my gearbox back from Ashcroft and I put ATF dextron 3 in LT77 and 75W90 in transferbox. Can`t wait to try it out...

  9. That`s quite a lot, right? I just got reconditioned gearbox and got a new input gear and I don`t want to change the hole thing again after 2 years.
  10. I have a lot of free play in my defender to. If I jacke one wheel and try to turn it it has 1/5 of turn of free play. So this would be the splines fault? Cheers D.

  13. Thank you, but I found T-box from discovery with 200tdi, which must be the same as TD5, only cheaper. Can`t wait to see the diference between the 1.67 and 1.22.
  14. Another question for the experts: I would like to put the disco T-box(MY 98) on my defender with LT77. Will it fit? What about the input gear? I just got new one from ashcroft. Will it fit to new T-box thanks for your help.
  15. Are the LT230 from R380 and LT77 the same? I would need one to fit to my LT77, but I dont`know what to look for.
  16. It doesn`t leak through the wading plug hole but between the block and the housing. So I don`t actually have a problem Of course I put the gasket between the block and housing but I didn`t put any sealent in between. Hope this will solve the problem.
  17. Just the topic I was loking for I have simlar problem after I rebuild my disco 200tdi and put it in to defender. But I`m shure that oil is not leaking at rear main oil seal but here: It is leaking behind the flywheel mount on the main shaft How is this possible? Could it be the gasket between engine and housing of the flywheel be the problem? Should I put some silicone on it? Thanks
  18. Did the same as Mark. But I did it on LHD. Only a bit harder. In future I only have to change the exhaust system for a diesel one as petrols is not suitable.
  19. Well, I know my limits I think it will be a lot cheaper if Ashcroft rebuild it. And faster too.

  22. Help needed urgently. Is there any well stocked shops with land rover parts near London or even better, in the way between Dover and Ashcroft transmissions? My friend is taking a few of gearboxes from Slovenia to aschroft for a rebuild and would like to stop to pick up some bigger parts as shipping to us is quite expensive. I only know Paddock, Craddock, MM 4x4, but they are quite far away from the route... Thanks for your help Regards Dejan
  23. I took my transfer and gearbox apart. The main shaft and the input gear are completely worn out. After 180.000km. Next week I`m taking it to Ashcroft...
