  2. hi guys i'm going to blank my EGR. i've receive the kit which consist of new gasket, the plate and bolts. i've been reading thread where some people had remove the egr valve itself and the intake manifold hose was replace as well. I have'nt recieved any hose the kit was only like 5 pound. so am i suppose to just put the plate inbetween the valve where it connect to the exhaust and leave all the hose and pipe as it is? is that the way i should be doing it? any advice are more than wellcome thanks a lot thierry

  5. Hi guys im planning on cleaning the sedimenter on my disco due to lack of power and it has never been done before. just wondering if anyone knows the part number for the o ring or the size of the o ring i need to get? also could i use silicone glue or gasket maker instead? thanks for the help
  6. it's a 1999 but 300tdi. one of these 300tdi which has'nt been sold until late. if you know what i mean.
  7. yeah it's the rev needle. at stationary it just wobble a lot between 1000-2000 rev. it does the same while driving. i was thinking it might be the small black wire on the alternator which control the rev!! could be wrong.
  8. hi guys my rev needle on the counter is wobbling a lot. it goes up and down specially when i'm on 4th or 5th gear. any ideas why it's doing that? thanks thierry

  10. Hi guys my driver side head lamp is not working properly. when i turn it on it stays on dim for about 15mins and then after that it will light on properly. anyone know what's that could be please thanks
  11. hi guys thanks for the help. it's definitely a disco1 with 300tdi. it's a late one. as it mention above it was one which was registered late even though it was manufactured before 1999. lights are the same as disco 1. i'll post some pics tomorrow. so would all the grade oil be the same as a defender. i presume it's not really different
  12. it's a 300tdi which i found weird because i thought the Td5 was introduced in 1998-2004 if i'm not wrong. any explanation for that? could it be a late 300tdi? thanks anyway for your help kind regards

Hi guys first merry xmas to everyone. i just bought a discovery 2 year 1999 300tdi engine. there's nothing wrong with it. i've own a defender 90 pick-up for the last 2 years which i've done loads of work on it including the engine conversion to a 200tdi.. i'm pretty handy with the land rovering i want to give my new landy a full service. she's got 120k miles on the clock i was wondering if anyone would advice on the recomendation on grade of oil for the engine, gearbox, t box, diff. just want to make sure if it would be the same as the defender? thanks a mil for your help Thierry
  15. i was thinking of that i might start with the grinder and finish with the hacksaw.is it hard to put the new arm on?

  17. hi guys, my steering has been awful since yesterday so i investigate sfter work and realised that all the guts of the drop arm balljoint felt apart on the street somewhere. the arm itself have to be replace as it's quite damage on the top. i've bee reading how hard it could be to get that arm off. try a puller, a big hammer and a bar and hit it hard. if these 2 methods does'nt work i'll concider cutting through the arm itself my question is can i cut it with the box insitu or will have to remove it from the landy? thanks for any advice thierry

  21. Hi guys just wondering when you put back the rocker cover do you need to apply some sort of sealant with thegasket as well or just the gasket on it's own? Thanks in advance T

  24. hi guys weather is getting cold and i've notice several of us are having issue starting the truck in the morning. my have the same issue as well. its a 200tdi 113k on the clock new battery etc. i suspect the heater plug to be faulty. i'm just wondering how hard is it to replace them. is there any thread which describe the procedure? thanks in advance thierry
