  1. So to sort it out I'll have to get the head out and retap the thread if it's the block one!
  2. I have not try to put a socket on it yet but I'll try it. That sound the head will have to come out if you are right. Could the bolt have just loosen itself with vibration! Don't know if that's possible
  3. Hi guys I've notice there's some oil getting out of one of the head bolt. It's not a big leak it looks like while driving the out spray onto the rocker cover. Very small leak . I've check the oil for water residue and vise versa with the coolant. Any idea what could be wrong? It's a 300tdi with 127k on it thanks for your help thierry
  4. Thanks I thought the green stuff is good for off roading but I've always use Mintex or lockheed so I think I'll stick to them. I've just been reading a few post that some disco are noisy after pads replacement so that's why I was wondering. Thanks thierry

  17. hi guys just a quick question. how can i tell if a lift pump is broken or just getting lazy? i try to prime it using the lift pump and it takes about 10 to 15 push on the lift pump handle before any diesel start pouring out. there's resistence on the lever and i could hear air coming out of the bleed screw. when people say the lift pump is getting lazy do they mean that it does'nt work properly or is it just broken? thanks for any advice thierry
  18. hi guys just a quick question. when cleaning the sedimenter, when you remove the top bolt and remove the whole bowl will fuel from the tank keep coming out from the pipe or it's the same as the fuel filter? thanks thierry

  23. hi guys got a question. so it's a 03 disco 2 Td5 engine. my friend was giving a clean to the engine and by accident he broke a small rubber hose. had a look at it and im not really familiar with Td5 engine. but the hose in question is connected to that kind of aluminium cylinder right in front of the engine behind the fan!!! when i had a proper look it's part of the pipe coming from the exhaust all the way to the manifold and egr valve. if that makes any sense what i'm trying to explain! so we don't know where the other end is connected to! any help will be much appreciated. thanks thierry
  24. thanks for that. i'll remove the EGR completely an dcrim the small hose on the intake hose for now until my other intake hose arrive which i've just order.
  25. so guy if i've got this right: 1:i ca either put the plate between the exhaust and the EGR valve and and leave evrything as it is that will give the same result? 2:remove the EGR valve completely crim the small metal hose which goes from the valve to the intake hose and tuck the electrical connection away and just blank the vacumm hose with a screw or something similar? Does this makes any sense to you guys? thanks thierry
