  1. This may help. ABS paper clip test
  2. The longer one for a 300 diff, if you use a 4 bolt flange from a 200 you have to use a spacer.
  3. There are 2 lengths of flanges 49mm and 61mm or Ashcrofts do a spacer which cost me about £7 delivered. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAND-ROVER-DIFFERENTIAL-DRIVE-FLANGE-KIT-4-BOLT-STC4858-/260351605907?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3c9e2a3c93
  4. Does anyone know what size and thread Steering bars are on a Disco 1 please, someone has cross threaded a TRE in the past and I need to clean the thread up?
  5. This is what you need for a 300TDI EGR Removal Kit No need to do any thing else except blank off the vacuum hose or disconnect the plug on later cars.
  6. Yep just what he say's.
  7. There's a few companies out there here is one http://www.custom-ch...k/shop/catalog/
  8. Well all i can say is it got most peoples attention driving down the road, lol
  9. Fitted the kit this morning and so far it seems a lot better, not completely gone but I can live with it, developed another rattle which I think is the mud shield, doesn't do it all the time so I think that is destined for the bin.
  10. Yes you can strip the switches, clean them and rebuild them a bit fiddly but can be done. lots of ball bearings and springs.
  11. The discs and pads have been on since August, Admittedly it doesn't do many miles a week but will have covered a few hundred miles in that time, the air pipe sounds like a plan but I thought super glue disintegrated with heat? I've ordered a new fitting kit from DLS so I'll give that a try then maybe the air pipe, I have some breather pipe so that should do the job.
  12. Pads are the right ones, I did re use the pins and springs though.
  13. I have Paddocks Front - non vented - slotted and drilled Performance Brake Discs with Lockheed pads fitted and the pads make a terrible noise as I'm driving along, You can see the inner pad lifted by the disc then falling back if you spin the hub, I have tapered the end of the pads but it is still doing it. Didn't do it on the old discs and pads. I have been told to fit genuine LR pads but @ £50 a set I thought I would ask if anyone else had experienced this problem?
  14. I've put some Goodyear Assurance ones on both our cars, not been used in anger yet but they seem ok.

    Speakers

D1 300 has iso, here's how I did mine. Discovery Aftermarket Stereo & Rear Door Speaker Connection Got one of these plugs of E Bay (£16) to make the rear subs work! Which was wrong Its this plug with just 1 red & 1 black wire coming out of it. That fits in here. Like this. I had to remove the plug from the e bay lead and connect the wires to the cars loom also connect the RCA plug to one of the stereo preouts. A bit of insulting tape and voilà job done :good: Unit replaced ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think this lead from e bay Is for this later type stereo But don't quote me on it

I've known a pin hole in pipe at the fuel tank cause these symptoms.
  17. Wipac Quodoptics are replacement headlamps designed to be direct replacement for sealed beam type units.
  18. I think I twigged it, it holds the other side of the pin in place.
  19. Took one of mine apart but perhaps you would tell me where this fella goes please?
  20. Here's me thinking An ESR2297 fitted both 90 & 110, well ya learn something new everyday IIRC I had to Jack the nearside up on the chassis to make life a touch easier on fitting mine.
  21. Copper pipe can be bent easily by hand, a bender would just make a very neat job so I wouldn't see any major problem.
  22. I think this will give you the most info you could get without paying Vin Calc for Land Rovers
