  1. Hi everyone! So - after a lot of this and that and here and there now we have two forums. Some of you seem to be happy with that, I am not. We hadthe same thing happen in Germany. First there was one forum, then some people disliked some other people, a second forum was opend. Now there were two, with 90% of the members active in both asking the same questions getting the same answers. Just recently the second forum ran into a polarizing discussion and guess what? Right. Now we have three of them. The latter two just differing by on hyopho in the name... Thus - even though I'm aware hatchances might be little - I would like to propose that maybe Geoff, Les and Trevor go out to have a ber together and in the end we have one forum, called Land Rover Addict, independant of LRE yet with all the archieves of the old LRE forum continued with the fresh spirit of the new LRA forum (on ednotion.com). The three guys (and probably many others) have done really good work after the closure of the original LRE and now I hope they value the community higher than the pride of a personal forum and cooperate for the best of all of us. Just my 2ct worth... Cheers Carsten ;-) PS: I will post this message on both forums to raise the awareness. 2. Can't be to far away. Tickets from Stanstead to Germany are cheaper than the Stanstead Express to London. Cheers Carsten ;-)
  3. You can come any time after short notice. 45cm wide, usual depth and height. The weight may be a problem when you swim across the Channel... Carsten ;-)
  4. I have no idea how to repair them, but I have an unused one in the Garage which you can have for free if you want to pick it up in Aachen, Germany. Old, but trustworthy... Carsten ;-)
  5. Unplugging the ECU turns of the light in the dash. For sure you can have a Range Rover with coils tuned to a much better ride than most other vehicles. However when it comes to low profile on German Autobahns and high level off tarmac combined with one of the finest rides you can get there is no choice but air. I admit though, that you should take some time to get to know the system in order to reduce possible cost. I have a spare valve block (60GBP from ebay together with spare ECU and 4 spare height sensors), you can buy cheap valve block repair kits to seal the valves, there are compressors without Land Rover sticker that are far cheaper than genuine parts and so on. When I once had a fault the main stealer wanted to sell me a new valve block but I decited to spend the same money for a RovacomLite (which I wanted anyway). I tracked the fault to be a broken rubber link of one height sensor and repaired it with 1GBP worth of naterial from the DIY shop. As written before new bellows are waiting to be built in (though the 11-year-old originals still hold strong, but I could not resist to buy four for 130GBP) and so I feel pretty safe and happy with my EAS. Cheers Carsten ;-)
  6. Hi! I got mine from island4x4 on ebay (original Dunlop bags) for about 130GBP the set of four. Having RovacomLite to work on the EAS myself I am very happy with this system and find the repairs are much cheaper than rumors say. http://www.p38a.co.uk and http://www.rangerovers.net have much info on how to repair EAS fauts cheaply. Faults logged into the ECU can unfortunately only be resset and read with diagnotic equipment. While anyone who swapped to coils for sure will never question his choice, I drive coilers nd EAS Rangies both regularly and much prefer EAS in any situation. Proper shocks and bushes help with EAS just as much as with coils. For the electrickery: With the Classic you simply unplug the EAS ECU and that's it. Only the 38a needs some more betraying... Cheers Carsten ;-)
  7. Stepper Motor = thingy on the rear of the lenum which adds more or less air when ideling. CC is acutated by a diaphragm, mounted right of the plenum. I will look at my Range again as soon as I have it back here, may be I did not check the lines carefully enough. Cheers Carsten ;-)
  8. Actually no, the cruise control uses it's own vacumn pump situated on the nearside front inner wing. Engine vacumn is used for dizzy advance & heater recirc control only. Why then would there be a vacuum line from stepper motor to cruise control on my '95 4.2? Maybe the design has changed with the serpentine belt models? Cheers Carsten ;-)
  9. Hi! May I stay though having a 4.2? :-)) I had leaking injectors when it was hard to start hot combined with a smell of unburnt petrol. Got a set from five-o (Bosch injectors, less than 200GBP for a set of 8). This helps to see if they affect the running. Testing them is described in the above mentioned test sheets. So you have vacuum available. The same vacuum is used in the stepper motor. It will erase any faults. Cheers Carsten ;-)
  10. Hi Chrispy! Does your car start immediatel when warm (parked for about 30mins)? Do you notice any difference, when you unplug the O2 sensors or temp sensors (water/fuel)? In case you have curise control - does that one work? Are any spark plugs darker than the others? Are the symptoms changing (better/worse) when you disconnect the battery for some time? Maybe these can help you. Cheers Carsten ;-)
  11. I love the videos RRR offers to its members. All about the development and commercials of the Range Rovers. My taste :-)) Cheers Carsten ;-)
  12. Still like this - I did not notice before as I have linked the RR forum directly to enter... Carsten ;-)
  13. He is already here. Cheers Carsten ;-)
  14. Will anyone of you be at the party from RRR? Carsten ;-)
  15. Why not? I have a 120l tank north-sounth and (while admittedly not a girls job) it is still possible to get the wheel (regular 215-75) in and out. The left cover had to be cut for the tank though: Cheers Carsten ;-)
  16. Hi! Found my way too - even though nobody cared to call me Could someone shortly tell me (PM if you like) why we are here now? Cheers Carsten ;-)
