  1. Hi all, not been on for a while, replacing a defender steering pump with a disco one. I recall someone replacing the defender arm with a disco arm and now cant find the thread for it as would like to keep the disco arm and wondered what else I would need to do this.
  2. In response to Reb 78 I had a brief glimpse through that thread. No fitting problems at all, can get lamps out from rear reasonably ok. Set up, by marking on garage wall old head light position then re aligning with new units. Been through MOT no problems!!! They are not loose, do not fall out when off-roading. Just been out and checked, they are Wipac and E marked and polycarb fronts. Must be lucky I guess!! Cant post the link on here for some reason. I got mine off the bay from Bolt on Bitz, wipac freeform headlights. Bought them in 2012 and they are still going on fine. bit more expensive now!!!
  3. Well..... I have 1 95 300tdi & like you the lights were appalling, I actually drove 1 mile on side lights and didn't realise as even on dipped beam they were about 2 candle power!!!! These were the original sealed beam units, obtained 2 Wipac crystal units, kept original rear bowls, threw away the lamps that came with them; then went to Halfords and bought 2x 90% brighter lamps £24 ish. I have all the relays etc. to upgrade the wiring but havn't done it yet. This was a vast improvement and has had no detrimental effect on the existing components. Hope this helps.
  4. I want to fit 2 single seats in the back of my 90, I want the inward facing type. what will I need to fit them? any brackets etc under the seat boxes for seat belt fixings etc. Have not looked at any in situ so any diagrams photos etc would be very useful. I have a pair of seats coming but other than that I have nothing else. I know they are not going to be very safe in a collision, but I just need the facility of carrying an extra person or 2 on very rare occasions. if there is already a thread somewhere for this could you link it for me. Thanks guys
  5. Mine runs high when cold but when temp is reached drops back to 30psi (ish) That's on a 300tdi.
  6. I went through the same dilemma as you, cd player or multi changer for my 90; in the end went for the Bluetooth/cd/ipod/aux/usb unit and very glad I did. More tunes available and clearer than cd, well the 800watt amps help lol.
  7. Paul, why on earth would you want to put bikes on your Landie!!!! How are you mate, long time no see. LOL Having bikes on it doesn't make it an Eco warrior, or more green.
  8. My Fully comp insurance was cheaper than getting third party fire and theft? Don't know why it just was!!!
  9. My speakers are mounted on the roof lining at the front of the rear (6x9 dual) through a 222watt amp and home made pods at rear in corners using (6 dual) straight from radio and 12" pioneer sub in the back through a 400watt amp + a Sony Bluetooth radio (another 200 watts) and I have no problem listening to anything that I use with the radio even at 80mph. LOL. and you do not need it full volume. Apart from the Sub in the back none of this takes up any room, the sub has a quick release connector so can come out quick if needed. ipod works well and so does bluetooth phone and even my 2mtr mobile can be plugged into the aux in ( does buzz a little)
  10. Toad I think you'll find no longer exist. Next best thing is a Rottie, just make sure its not in there when its hot!!!!
  11. sounds just like mine!!!! well done mate.
  12. Need another vid on what it sounds like now lol well done
  13. I rebuilt my 90, and had a similar problem; also changed wheels, had them rebalanced twice. Had tracking checked 3 times, adjusted wheel bearings checked and adjusted pre tension etc etc. Turned out the radius arm bolts were loose!!!! so I would check those along with the bushs. Took a year to find that, by the guy who did the MOT.
