Just browsing through the net...
Anyone remember this, I can remember reading this year's ago, this is what got me wanting portals in the first place. Nice reading this again knowing I've finally achieved that dream

Regards Stephen
I saw that in Scotland at the Tay forest challenge a few times, winning one year too.

I have different experiences with couriers; Evri used to be good, then non-existent (the courier left the job, and they had no one to fill in) some stuff was 5 weeks late as a result, it's ok-ish now. I ordered a few Christmas presents 4 weeks early, but some arrived with new year!
The others are ok normally
The problem is in the competition; we all want the best deal, so the competition is absolutely murderous. The result is these pay rates:
Delivery driver salary in United Kingdom (indeed.com)
Those drivers have to do 100-odd drops a day, so no wonder they are rushed, don't wait for someone to answer the door, and just drop it where ever.
With that salary, recruiting people will be hard, it is not a good deal for a highly stressed job and you will have a big turnover of staff I reckon.
Complaining about couriers is easy, but I couldn't do the job myself.

That's a nice bit of sheet metal development.
Indeed, how did you design the flat patterns?

Engine looks a bit forward, I would suggest moving it backward, as there is plenty of space to the bulkhead. The series land rovers have the engine sitting behind the front axle, which I have mimicked on mine
by putting the engine as close to the bulkhead as possible.

Land Rover suggested heavy users change to fixed tow bars.
I never understood the reason for a detachable towbar; it just gives another opportunity for something to go wrong, like here. The above statement does not fill me with confidence.
In the scrap bin with them.

Also worth checking the piston diameter in your front calipers; There is 41 and 46mm versions, bigger is better obviously. The bigger caliper has bigger Pads as well. 0n a 110, wheelbase You might get away with no proportioning valve at the back if you run the bigger calipers. On my 88, it did need a proportioning valve.

Good project. I have had a fair amount of re-engineering to do to fit an intercooler between the front panel and the LHD steering box:
I did cheat in the end, and moved the front panel 1" forward, and added an inch to the back of the bonnet.

What is the cab/front end from?

Looks a Dodge power wagon to me, minus the front screen.
Like it!

Got a fair amount of heavy metal, for very little money, Some items I was after I did not get, but I saw others carrying them to their car, so they were there, but I missed out!
The amount of traders is growing though, and they are not the reason I am going there.

I will be there.

The 360-degree turn skid steer is impressive though!

I think these things will have a good take up in second hand in a few years time. Most people into offroading or land rovers want one, but cannot afford it yet.

Hi, looking forward to the build. Many has gone before you on here. I have a similar vehicle with a 300 TDI and coil springs.

I have been doing this sort of thing for years and for some reason I always think I can achieve more in a day than I actually can…anyone else get that?
No, I don't get that, The last time I spent a day in the garage was before my last-born child arrived, and that was 5 years ago!
But I do get the idea that I achieve less in the 3 hours a week I spend in the garage than I first thought.

If there is a V5 present, you can basically swap anything like for like, if you have to apply for a new registration, they want to know where you got your parts. This needs to be proven with invoices. The dvla wants to avoid assisting stolen parts or vehicles getting back on the road.

Interesting video. I had a lift pump fail, as in stopped pumping, which shows as the engine needing several turns before it starts. I believe one of the valves in the pump failed. The engine still ran, as the high-pressure injection pump is self-priming. I don't see an electric pump being more reliable personally, as it is always electrics that let you down in my experience.

Cwp ratio

The speedo aside, 3.75 is not much of a change, about 6%. I would suggest 4.1 ratios, to make a difference, as the TD5 is not very torquey at the bottom revs.
