hi i am thinking of trading my wranglar in for a freelander td willing to spend upto £6000.00 on one. need to know what to loook out for. any big probs. how much would one tow ? could it pull a caravan about 1.25 ton easy enough. swanny

as part of the set up team for this and other courses we all ways walk to were the cyber point. i think on saturday set up the lad who voluntered to do the wading was only wet up to 6in above his waist so like DD said look be for you leap.

hello i have used an old lynton 1ton tipping trailer. i took off the body then made a frame out of 50x50 angle then ply sides with doors at the rear and a side door. it has a false bottom to the rear with an area for cooker and brew kit so are easy to hand. it is the same track as my wrangler so were that fits the trailer does. it has a normal tow hitch and a big chain too the brakes which are the rod type the chain is also there to stop theft as fasten to the jeep with paddlock and high tensile bolt. couple of years back went up to do geral wades road and it towed great just make sure most of the wieght is to the front and then watch your tongue weight. should be good with a disco with jeep been light it was a nightmare. i looked at horse boxes they did not have enough grown clearance. swanny

hello i have a jeep wrangler it runs on the same dana 44 axels i have just done under 50ths miles in her so far done thrust bearing twice front wheel bearings 1 right pain as have to fit new hubs £400 each side just done rear wheel bearings at £80 a side. hope this helps.

rember if you have roof rack on wind noise is a big pain more so then tyres noise. i have allways used SDV trade racks in clitheroe they will make them to any design. had one on a srries 3 which came over the bonnet about 15ft long. swanny

we use hilti drills a bit dear but they last. had one for 12yrs drilled holes in any thing from enginering bricks to 12mm thick RSJ . bought new one last year £120.00 + vat cant fault them can be repaired easy too

easy way is to get some 25mm ply or even 18mm ply. and like you said have 1 half concertina the othe half as a personal door. you will need some 18in band hindges 16 of for the end were fit to the opening and some double flat hinges for the concertina 3 of. dont go to b&q try a farm supply shop of a timber yard. if useing 18mm ply run some 25x18mm pse timber around the edges. swanny

dig hole then cover bottom with sand lay blue viscuen polythene on bottom 7 up the sides like forming a pond. then lay 6-9inch concrete with fall to 1 end so you are not stood in water even put little well in so u can scoop water out. then build your walls up in 9in hollow blocks.bring poly up sides get some comprashion bords like felt ?. put between poly and your infill then fill blocks with wet concrete to the top then concrete floor. if over 8ft long build in a piller to stop walls from falling in and crushing you. hope this helps its a job n a half to keep water out. swanny

hello a couple of years back at AWDC winch challange we had a hog roast from down there it was fab. if bods are camping they should have there own KFS + bowl/plate. id pay about £4.50 - £6.00 for full brecky with black pudding like sheeppimp said yummmmmmiiiiiiiii swanny
